Bring On the Weekend!

So excited for the weekend! I took tomorrow off so I'm getting an early start!!  It has been such a slow week at work for me! I finallymanaged to organize my rat's nest desk and am caught up on everything, but that pretty much leaves nothing left for me to do!  Atleast my desk area is no longer an embarrassment so I guess that is something?  Speaking of organizing, I am going to go thru my closet tomorrow and transfer all my cute stuff onto my new huggable hangers! I got about 72 of them plus a bunch of pant hangers/clips/storage boxes so it should be a pretty big project, but long overdue!  I would love more closet space, considering that about 1/4 of my closet is taken up by dated 80's dresses my mother refuses to throw away I need all the room I can get!

I think I'm also going to get a haircut tomorrow because it is getting a little too bushy and unruly for me to deal with.  They always cut it too short though and I hate it for a week, but what can I expect with a $15 hair cut?!  Tracey and I are going for a walk tonight and then I have her bridal shower this Saturday... I'm expected to bring a gift right?  I've never been to a bridal shower before so this is all new to me!  I need to break the news to Tracey soon to let her know I can't make her wedding in Vegas.  As much as I'd love to go the cost is just too high to justify what would turn out to be ONE day in Vegas.  Sorry Tracey!!!  I'm getting her a really nice gift though, so that's what counts right?!

Retail Round Up

So clearly I have been doing a little retail therapy lately, and I have picked up some pretty nice things!  First and foremost I was tempted by a special on HSN the other night for Huggable Hangers!  Now I can’t stand Joy Mangano and have heard that most of the items she sells are pretty bad, but the huggable hangers are pretty highly rated and are supposed to triple the closet space!  I chose the “platinum grey” version…

I'm also always on the lookout for a great skin mattifying product.  I tend to have really oily skin, which is super annoying and I always look shiny in photos.  I have been an anti-mattifying gel by Peter Thomas Roth which I love, but wanted something else on backup just in case.  So I found this Laura Geller powder called "Shimmer Down Now", which I love just by name alone, and have already used it with pretty great results!

Finally, I have been obsessed with faux-tanning lately.  As I mentioned earlier I used to regularly indoor tan (mostly in the Summer months) but am really not feeling the effects those rays can do!  I tried the Tan Towel, which was fine, but I just discovered St. Tropez which is supposed to be AMAZING!  Basically it is a lotion that looks bronze when it goes on, no streaks!!, and then after it dries you rinse it off to reveal a beautiful and natural bronzed skin!  I ordered the 8 oz size!!! Cannot wait to try this out!

The Hardest Weight to Lose

So I apologize for the lack of posting lately but I have been sort of going thru a bit of a rough patch in my personal life.  Since this is my blog I figured I might as well divulge.  Quite recently, the BF and I decided that it would be best for us to end our romantic relationship, on good terms though.  It was a very bittersweet decision but in both our hearts we know it is the right one, and I look forward to when we can laugh and reminisce about our times together.  There is some definite sadness as with any break up situation, but I have a really great support system around me to help make those "moments" not so horrible!  In terms of where this fits into the health and fitness aspects of my life.... I've always been my absolute thinnest after a break up.  It is apparently the only time in my life where I don't really focus on my diet and/or exercise and end up losing weight almost by accident.  Will that happen this time? I hope Time will only tell. 

Dreary Sunday

So it looks like we are paying for the gorgeousness of Friday and yesterday morning with a truly disgusting and dreary Sunday (and from what I hear Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday).  Weather like this is so uninspiring to me!  Thank goodness I was atleast semi-productive yesterday.  I got some laundry done, cleaned the bathroom, applied my second layer of tan with the tan towel (review to follow shortly) and did an awesome Jackie Warner DVD coupled with a 4 mile treadmill run!  I think I'm ready to increase the weights on all aspects of my workout and in fact yesterday I was doing my tricep kickbacks with 8 lb weights!! That is a major improvement for me considering I once struggled with the 3 lb weights!

I had my usual breakfast of oatmeal w/ PB and Ezekial toast with Wawa coffee of course!  I think I may head to Bed Bath & Beyond today to get some essentials.  Yesterday I went to Target and stocked up on a bunch of "teeth whitening" supplies, hoping that I can get my teeth to look a little whiter!  I got the Crest Vivid White toothpaste and the pre-rinse whitening rinse that has worked for me in the past.  Today is actually my "sugar cheat day" where I am allowed to have one 1500 calorie meal of anything I wish, and the funny thing is... I don't even want one!  I guess there is some merit to the idiom that consistent healthy eating will help cure all those "bad" cravings.  I will probably have a Clif bar or two just so I don't end up kicking myself later this week for not indulging today, but I will most definitely not approach that 1500 calorie allotment.

        

I'm Alive!

Hi everybody!! Sorry I haven't posted the past couple days, I have been swamped at work plus I didn't have anything that exciting going on to post about!  Anyway, I amalive and well and soooo happy that it is Friday! It is gorgeous outside and I am hoping to do something fun this weekend, I don't have any plans as of yet but we'll see what happens!  One of my friends let me know that she has been doing a DVD series called "Brazil Butt Lift" which she said is kicking her (tiny) ass!  I did some research and it looks pretty intense, lots of cardio and butt-centric moves utilizing resistance bands.  It also appears to incorporate the always challenging "dance moves" which would probably take me two years to figure out!  So I'm not sure if I'm going to invest in this or not, it has a price tag of around $60 so it is a little steep, anybody have any experience with this DVD?

I ran out of the Sunshine Burgers I got at Whole Foods in Philadelphia yesterday so there goes my really exciting and fun salads!  I'm going to have to boil up a bag of beans sometime soon so that I have more than just lettuce, dressing and nutritional yeast for lunch.  Lately I have also been breaking some wasa crackers over my salad to serve as pseudo-croutons for some added crunch, not too bad!  I treated myself to a 16 oz Wawa coffee and chocolate chip Clif bar this afternoon, lately my Fridays have been outright hellish!  Since when did people expect you to work be productive on a Friday?!  Anyway, hope you all have a beautiful Friday night!
