So about a month or so ago I decided to take the plunge and begin eating fish again! I wrestled with this decision as I have really enjoyed eating a strictly vegan diet over the past five months, and I do credit a large part of my weight loss on my vegan diet. However now that I am settled at a good weight for myself I wanted to reintroduce fish into my diet. Also now that I tend to be eating out more I would like more options as it is still hard to "vegan-ize" most restaurant menus without ending up paying $17.00 for what amounts to a plate of lettuce. I have probably had 4 or 5 servings of fish within the past month and thankfully have not suffered any ill effects. I was scared my body might freak out with this addition to my diet, however there were no stomach aches or any other ill effects, thankfully!
I'm still eating vegan about 90% of the time and have really limited eating fish only to the times when I am out, and still make sure to avoid all dairy and other animal products as much as I can (sometimes it sneaks into things, even when you order everything "no butter"). So far so good!
