I believe the culprit is my upping my miles per week by about 8-10 miles and also the new shoes I bought which never quite felt right. So here I am taking about 10 days off, wearing my fun green knee strap and icing my knee in 20 minute increments. Jealous?!
I'm hoping that I should be ok to begin running again by November 1st, from the research I've done it appears the pain can last for 6-7 days once you start resting/icing and can go away virtually overnight. I'm going to have to ease my way back into the running and I will probably change back to my old shoes just to be safe. There is really no worse feeling than not being able to exercise (I can't even use the elliptical as it puts too much weight on the knee).
I have however been super careful with my diet and hydration, because I'm glued to the La-Z-Boy resting so much I'm actually not working up too much of an appetite. I am however passing the time with some Netflix binging and eBay perusing. For the sake of my wallet my knee needs to heal soon!
