For the 3 of you that might not know who this amazing woman is, she is a health and wellness guru who knows what she is talking about. If you don't believe me, just ask one of the thousands of her disciples. A former fat kid herself, Jillian Michaels has turned the fitness world on its head with her no nonsense approach and her kick-ass workouts. Just 10 minutes into her DVD 30 Day Shred, Jillian had me literally begging for mercy on my living room floor. Needless to say, this is a chick who commands results.
The reason Jillian is such a hero of mine is that she knows of what she speaks. She doesn't pretend to have an effortlessly fit body, she has to work hard just like the rest of us and is refreshingly honest about how hard it is to maintain her enviable physique. She is an advocate of personal responsibility and taking credit for your own accomplishments and failures. I have read all of her books and highly recommend them to anybody who is looking to transform the way they think about food and exercise. I admire her stance on going organic and taking back our power over the foods we eat. She is solely responsible for me quitting my Splenda addiction! For that reason alone (among many more of course), I hereby anoint Jillian Michaels the first fitness hero on Skinny Jeans Blog!
